Redeemed by the Blood: Living as Strangers with Purpose
Thursday Apr 02, 2026
Thursday Apr 02, 2026
In this episode of the Bulldog Morning Update, we begin with a powerful reflection on First Epistle of Peter 1:17–19, where Peter calls believers to live with reverence, not מתוך fear, but from a deep understanding of what it cost to redeem us. This passage reminds us that while we now approach God as Father through Christ, our lives still matter as evidence of transformed hearts. We were not purchased with temporary things, but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of the spotless Passover Lamb. Because of that, we are called to live differently, as strangers in this world who belong fully to Him.
We then celebrate members of our BBA family, including alumni Damion Aarons II, students Kanye, Gayeon, and Seth, and faculty member Mr. Jerome Keels. The day continues with Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry for lunch and exciting athletic matchups as Varsity Soccer and Baseball compete.
In our Moment of Connection, we take a clear look at the role of the Superintendent. As the sole employee of the Board, this role carries the responsibility of leading every aspect of the academy, from academics to operations, while remaining aligned to the mission of developing disciples of Christ who pursue academic excellence. This is leadership rooted in stewardship, accountability, and faithfulness to God’s calling.

Called to Be Holy: Living Out Who We Are in Christ
Wednesday Apr 01, 2026
Wednesday Apr 01, 2026
In this episode of the Bulldog Update, we move from hope to action as we examine 1 Peter 1:15–16 and the call to holiness. Peter reminds us that holiness is not an external performance rooted in Old Covenant law, but an internal transformation made possible through the finished work of Christ. Because we have been called by a holy God, our lives are now shaped by His character in every area of conduct. This episode challenges us to stop striving to appear right and instead live out who we already are in Christ, allowing His work within us to be seen clearly in our daily decisions, relationships, and attitudes.
We also take time to celebrate members of our BBA community, recognize today’s events, and encourage support for our Varsity Softball team as they compete at home.
Finally, in our Moment of Connection, we begin to answer the question, “What makes BBA, BBA?” by looking at the intentional structure of leadership through the Board of Governors. Rooted in the local church, this structure ensures that our mission remains clear, our leadership is accountable, and our school continues to operate from a strong biblical foundation.

Shaped by Holiness, Sent to Lead
Tuesday Mar 31, 2026
Tuesday Mar 31, 2026
In this episode of the Bulldog Morning Update, we move from what we believe to how we live. Rooted in 1 Peter 1:14–16, we are reminded that under the New Covenant we are no longer striving to earn God’s favor, but living as children who have already received it through Christ. Because of that identity, we are called to something higher. We are called to holiness. Not an external, rule-driven holiness of the Old Covenant, but a transformed life that reflects the character of God from the inside out.
As we celebrate birthdays, enjoy fellowship over lunch, and support our student-athletes, we are reminded that everyday moments are opportunities to live out that calling.
We also conclude our focus on the Expected Stakeholder Outcomes by examining what it means to use knowledge to serve and lead. At BBA, learning is not the destination. It is preparation for impact. When knowledge is surrendered to Christ, it produces humility, service, and wise leadership that points others to Him.
This episode is a clear reminder that who we are in Christ should shape how we live, how we learn, and how we lead.

Set Your Hope Fully: Living with Excellence, Clarity, and Purpose in Christ
Monday Mar 30, 2026
Monday Mar 30, 2026
In this episode of the Bulldog Morning Update, we step into 1 Peter 1:13 and are reminded that because of what Christ has accomplished, we are called to think and live differently. Peter’s challenge is clear. Prepare your mind. Stay alert. Fix your hope completely on the grace that is coming in Jesus. This is not passive faith. It is an intentional, disciplined life shaped by the finished work of Christ and the promise of His return.
We then celebrate the lives that make up our Berean community, recognizing birthdays across alumni, students, and staff, and marking the start of IOWA testing. Students are encouraged to approach the day with diligence and integrity, remembering that their identity is rooted in Christ rather than performance.
Finally, we focus on one of our Expected Stakeholder Outcomes: working with excellence and integrity. At BBA, this is more than academic effort. It is worship. Because Christ has fulfilled the law and given us new hearts, we now pursue excellence as a response to grace, not a means of earning it. This is how we build a culture that honors God in every task, every classroom, and every moment.

Living in What the Prophets Longed to See
Thursday Mar 26, 2026
Thursday Mar 26, 2026
In today’s Bulldog Update, we step into 1 Peter 1:10–12 and uncover the weight of the salvation we often take for granted. The prophets searched for it, the Spirit revealed it, and now in Christ, we are living in its fulfillment. What they only glimpsed, we now clearly know through the gospel. This moment of reflection challenges us to respond with gratitude, endurance, and a renewed commitment to proclaim Christ.
We also take time to celebrate members of our Berean family, recognizing birthdays for both alumni and current students, sharing today’s lunch menu, and highlighting a full schedule of athletic events as our students compete with excellence and character.
Finally, in our Moment of Connection, we focus on a critical Expected Stakeholder Outcome: thinking critically and biblically. Rooted in Romans 12:2, we are reminded that true transformation comes through the renewal of the mind. At BBA, this means forming students who are not shaped by culture, but grounded in truth, equipped to discern God’s will, and prepared to live with clarity and conviction in every area of life.

Tuesday Mar 24, 2026
In this episode of the Bulldog Update, we step into the tension of the Christian life found in 1 Peter 1:6–7. We are reminded that while believers rejoice in a living hope secured in Christ, we also walk through seasons of real difficulty. These trials are not случай or meaningless. They are purposeful, refining our faith like gold in fire, producing something far more valuable that will result in praise, glory, and honor when Christ is revealed.
As we celebrate members of our Berean family, we take time to recognize alumni birthdays, enjoy a lunch of burritos, and support our student-athletes competing across multiple events. These moments remind us that community matters and that every part of school life is an opportunity to reflect Christ.
In our Moment of Connection, we examine the sixth Expected Stakeholder Outcome: pursuing knowledge with diligence. Rooted in Proverbs 4:7 and fulfilled in Christ as our wisdom, we are challenged to see learning not as a task, but as an act of worship. At Berean, academic excellence is not separate from discipleship. It is a reflection of it.

Guarded by God, Living on Mission
Monday Mar 23, 2026
Monday Mar 23, 2026
In this episode of the Bulldog Update, we begin with a powerful reminder from 1 Peter 1:5 that our security is not found in our performance, but in the guarding power of God through faith. As we continue in the flow of Peter’s opening words, we are challenged to rest in the finished work of Christ, knowing that the same power that saved us is the power that keeps us.
We then take time to celebrate our Berean family, recognizing birthdays from over Spring Break and looking ahead to today’s celebrations. The community is also updated on lunch and athletic events, with opportunities to support our students in action.
Finally, in our Moment of Connection, we focus on the fifth Expected Stakeholder Outcome: serving others with a Kingdom mindset. This segment highlights how true Christian education moves beyond knowledge into action, forming students who use their God-given gifts to serve others and glorify Christ. The episode calls our entire community to live as faithful stewards, developing not just successful students, but disciples who live on mission every day.

Coffee with the Superintendent
Coffee with the Superintendent is a podcast hosted by Dr. Jack Farmer, Superintendent of Berean Baptist Academy (BBA), created to engage the BBA community uniquely and personally. This podcast serves as a bridge between the school’s leadership and families, students, and faculty, providing regular updates, spiritual encouragement, and insight into the educational mission and values of the academy.
Each episode is divided into three segments: The Grind, The Holy Spirit’s Water, and The Add-Ins (for weekday episodes).
-
The Grind covers daily announcements and school updates, helping listeners stay informed about birthdays, events, and important happenings on campus.
-
The Holy Spirit’s Water offers a daily devotional on Scripture and its relevance. Dr. Farmer shares personal reflections, often connecting biblical truths to BBA’s mission of fostering citizenship, excellence, and spiritual growth in students.
-
The Add-Ins (weekday episodes) dive into relevant issues in education and faith, such as leadership challenges, educational trends, and the pressures facing teachers and administrators. This segment provides a thoughtful perspective on the complexities of Christian education and Dr. Farmer’s vision for a school culture rooted in discipline, academic excellence, and biblical values.
On weekends, Coffee with the Superintendent is a shorter, more relaxed episode, or “espresso shot,” highlighting birthdays and a brief devotional thought.
The podcast strengthens the community’s connection to BBA’s mission, fosters transparency, and encourages families and staff through meaningful, faith-based content. By sharing practical updates and spiritual insights, Dr. Farmer creates a space where listeners can feel informed, inspired, and biblically grounded, all while staying aligned with BBA’s core values and purpose.
